Not only is IT/OT convergence underway within companies, but more organizations are also moving services to the cloud for increased efficiency and productivity in their IT and OT environments. For years, we have been concerned with the security issues that are emerging as a result of this expansion of the corporate ecosystem. In 2017, the White House estimates that the NotPetya worm caused $10B in damages. Since then, the Triton malware targeted industrial control systems - specifically safety systems. With the escalating cyber threat environment and potential impact on 24x7 industrial automation operations, we are more at risk than ever before. This presentation will focus on understanding the problem and learning how to build a resilient, risk-based IT/OT security strategy that can withstand modern attacks and improve the security and safety of cyber-physical systems.
