Session Description
This presentation will showcase Northrop Grumman Aerospace System's (NGAS) transition towards digital manufacturing. Their vision includes real-time data analytics, predictive and prescriptive modeling, digital twin/ thread, assisted reality, and more. While NGAS is at the beginning of this vision, they have implemented the first two components: data analytics and predictive modeling. Representatives from NGAS and PTC will present the challenges, technical details, and path forward for connecting to automation equipment in a high rate manufacturing environment. In particular, they will focus on IIoT connectivity for fiber placement automated assets. Through a live data ETL process (Extract, Transform, Load), NGAS is able to provide real-time data analytics and predictive modeling to the shop floor. Not only does this deliver valuable, live performance data, it also provides real-time machine error predictions that help the operations team anticipate adverse events during production. As a result, NGAS will share how they expect to decrease downtime by up to 40%.
